About the City Council

THE CITY COUNCIL is the governing body of our municipal corporation known as the City of Del Mar. The Mayor and Deputy Mayor are chosen each year by and from among the City Council members. The five members of the City Council are elected at-large to four-year overlapping terms. Municipal elections are held in November of even-numbered years. The City Council appoints the City Manager, City Attorney and all members of the City's boards, commissions and committees.

City Council Agenda and Meetings

The City Council meets regularly on the first and third Mondays of each month beginning at 6:00 PM. Special meetings and workshops are held occasionally. The City Council meets in the Del Mar Communications Center, 240 Tenth Street, Del Mar.
